To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account/loan. When you open an account/loan, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
In accordance with Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT Act, signed October 26, 2001, National Auto Loan Network (NALN) is required to obtain a copy of the documents used in identifying new account/loan customers and in identifying signatory individuals added to an existing or new account/loan. In some cases, identification will be requested for those individuals banking with NALN’s assignees prior to the effective date of the customer identification requirements because original documentation was not obtained with the opening of the account/loan or the assignee is unable to form a reasonable belief that it knows the true identity of the existing customer. In all cases protection of our customers’ identity and confidentiality is NALN’s pledge to you.
What this means to you: When you open a new account/loan, we will ask for your name, date of birth, and other information that will allow our assignees to identify you. We may ask you to provide a copy of your driver’s license and other identifying documents. By submitting this application, you authorize the assignee(s) to obtain information necessary to verify your identity. This may include information obtained from a consumer reporting agency, public data bases, or other sources. If the assignee(s) is/are unable to verify information necessary to confirm your identity, an account/loan may not be opened/funded. The assignee(s) reserves the right to close your account/loan if it determines at a later date that we/they do not know your identity.
